Dov Charney’s Accuser Thought His Abuse Was ‘Normal’

Dov Charney accuser Irene Morales went on The Today Show this morning to discuss her sexual abuse case that is currently on hold. Morales is seeking $250 million in damages from the American Apparel head honcho, who she claims psychologically and sexually abused her as teenager.

The interview is as illuminating as it is depressing. In regards to the abuse, Morales explained: ”I thought it was almost normal. I thought everyone in the retail or fashion industry had to go through something similar to that.”

We have yet to hear from Charney himself, though an actual quote for a sworn deposition from a previous sexual harassment case goes like this: “There’s some of us that love sluts. It could also be an endearing term.”

I don’t know what this girl is talking about. I worked for American Apparel for years and almost everyone I worked with got paid minimum wage… There are definitely other retail jobs out there that she could have worked for that paid much more than AA.
