Isabella Blow Biopic Gets A Green Light And Galliano

For years the fashion world has been muttering about bringing the incomparable Isabella Blow — in all of her avant-garde extravagance — to life on the big screen. After all, her biography practically reads like a movie script, down to the elaborate couture costumes, larger than life cast, and sadly, the tragic ending.

Well, now it seems the fashion flock might have gotten their wish. According to British Vogue, Blow’s friend and confidant, legendary milliner Philip Treacy approached Andre Leon Talley whilst feteing Naomi in Cannes and told him that the project had gotten the green light.

“We had not hugged since Isabella Blow’s funeral three years ago, and he shared fabulous news: He has a producer to do a film on Isabella,” Leon-Talley told Vogue. More, Treacy let it slip that designer John Galliano plans on playing himself in the film — because really, who else could?

Of course, gossip is gossip and all of this could just be the Moet talking but our interest is definitely piqued — imagine the costumes! And the cast! Speaking of, no word yet on whether any of Blow’s other well-attired accomplices (Anna Wintour included) will star — nor on which starlet will play Isabella. But we’re sure the mad hatter will pull something out of his fantabulous hat.
