PHOTOS: James Franco Shoots Agyness Deyn For Elle Magazine

Because we as a society have given James Franco a free pass to do whatever he damn well pleases, the actor (and artist, et al) thought it would be a good idea to shoot a spread for a high-fashion magazine. And it turns out he was kinda right.

Franco shot models Agyness Deyn, Imogen Poots and Natalia Bonifacci for the July issue of ELLE magazine in a story called Chateau Dreams. The story is an accompaniment to his latest project, an examination of the impact James Dean‘s movie Rebel Without A Cause had on American film and culture. So Bungalow 2 of Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont (where the movie’s director Nicholas Ray lived while the film was in production) makes sense as the backdrop for his pictures.

The shots themselves aren’t trendy or fashion-y so much as they are an homage to James Dean’s classic style, and we like the not-so-subtle way Franco plays with gender by casting women models as his own ultimate male muse. Take a gander at a few scans from the issue below.
