PHOTOS: Who Wants To See James Franco’s Bare Ass? (Obviously NSFW)

At this point, we can pretty much all agree that James Franco is a weird kid. A very well educated kid, but a weird one nonetheless. And the actor/lecturer/artist has taken one more step to prove his own weirdness with the major difference in his two fall magazine covers: one that shows him in all his cosmopolitan, fashion-y glory, and another that just shows his bare ass.

Franco posed for the very red cover of VMAN 24, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and due on newsstands this Thursday. Franco’s efforts to distinguish himself as someone who isn’t conventional by any means has earned him the title “Man of the Decade.” Well, so far, anyway.

His cover of Flaunt Magazine, however, probably won’t make it to the newsstand without a cardboard coverup, as it is really just a picture of his butt, crack and all, with a tramp stamp on his lower back that says “flaunt.” The single cover line, which you can see through, says “A Thorny Issue: Pruning The Roses.”

We’re gonna be honest. We don’t know what that means, and we’re not gonna stare at the cover until we do. If you can figure it out, you know where to find us. Take a look at both covers below.

What is so “weird” about it?  He has shown his butt in movies before and even Oscar winner Colin Firth has shown his butt in movies.  It’s not like he is displaying an erect penis or something!  Americans are so hung up on showing a body part.  Playboy covers show about the same.  People wear thongs to the beach and thongs show just as much.  Get over it!  Everyone’s butt looks basically the same anyway, though his looks better than most!
