PHOTO: A First Look At Jason Wu’s Target Collection

If you were getting tired of designer collaborations, snap out of it. Jason Wu‘s collection for Target will be on the retailer’s mass market shelves at the beginning of February, and photos of what it will look like have just started popping up online.

T Magazine got this picture from Wu just today — and our friends at Glamour got another exclusive look at the collection, which will be featured in their February issue — and you can see pretty plainly that the clothes in his Target line stick to the same flirty and ultra feminine aesthetic that dominates his main line. But Wu says that unlike other collaborations, in which old pieces are reinterpreted in less expensive fabrics, everything in this collection is brand new.

“My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu told T. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”

The A-line dress below speaks volumes on its own, and so does the printed dress and boxy printed purse in slide two — it’s simple and surprisingly fresh, which is exactly what most people want out of a spring collection. It retails for $40, and the canvas handbag next to it will cost you $50. And at prices like those, how could you not be excited?

That’s less expensive than some of the other Designer lines.  Can’t wait.
