WATCH: Why Jennifer Lawrence Didn’t Last Long As An Abercrombie Model
Jennifer Lawrence‘s acting career may have begun with the coveted role of “Lisa” in promos for MTV‘s “My Super Sweet Sixteen”, but her modeling career began — and ended — with a series of advertisements for Abercrombie & Fitch.
While Lawrence may have the posing thing down pat these days, the ways she tells it, that wasn’t always the case. The 22-year-old was on Conan last night wearing a crop top and pencil skirt by Cushnie et Ochs, and told the host the story of her short-lived stint as a model.
“I did stuff for Abercrombie & Fitch but you would never know because none of my pictures got released…which I thought was unbelievable until my agent emailed and was like ‘Why didn’t you ever use her?’ and then instead of answering with any words or explanation, they just sent over the photos.”
The photos, it seems, show the actress playing football on the beach with a group of other shiny-haired, All-American teens. Except while they were “model footballing,” she was “really playing football. To wit:
“There’s this one picture where this girl is about to catch the football and I’m behind her, like, flared nostrils, red face, my hair’s crazy, and I’m mid-air like ‘Yarghhh!’ And at one point she screamed ‘Get her away from me!’”
Yeah, we think it’s about time the folks over at Abercrombie pulled these out of their archives.
