WATCH: Jennifer Lawrence’s Big Break On My Super Sweet 16

Once upon a time, long before the odds were forever in her favor as Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence was cast as “Lisa” in two promos for one of our favorite reality shows back in 2005: MTV‘s “My Super Sweet 16″.

This tidbit came to light last night at the SAG Awards during the 22-year-old’s “Best Actress” acceptance speech for Silver Linings Playbook, which she kicked off with a seemingly incongruous thank you to MTV. As it turns out, the role earned her a SAG card at age 14, kicking off what’s become an inarguably successful career. In the commercials, a teenage JLaw stars as the oh-so-spoiled birthday girl whose extravagant party goes somehow awry — a predictable plot point in every episode, as a onetime fan of the show can tell you.
