Jennifer Lawrence’s Seventeen Cover Is A Total ’90s Throwback

Jennifer Lawrence — aka KATNISS EVERDEEN — fronts Seventeen‘s April issue, and the cover is giving us some serious ’90s nostalgia.

Lawrence sports a fitted red tie-dye scoopneck long-sleeved tee, accessorized with short retro necklaces and a middle part. This probably wasn’t intentional, but HEY, IT’S THE ’90s. We totally rocked this look back in fifth grade. Also, this bit from Lawrence’s cover story is totally upsetting:

“I remember when I was 13 and it was cool to pretend to have an eating disorder because there were rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie were anorexic. I thought it was crazy. I went home and told my mom, ‘Nobody’s eating bread — I just had to finish everyone’s burgers.’”

Because being a middle schooler isn’t hard enough, right?

I actually love the cover…Jennifer can wear anything.  As far as the part about her middle school memories  when my daughter was in middle school she used to talk to me about how a lot of the girls were going into the bathroom after lunch to make themselves throw up.  It’s horrible and it is still going on so I’m glad that Jennifer has brought the subject of girls and healthy mind/body image into focus.
