Did Jessica Simpson Totally Knock Off Christian Louboutin?

What’s the difference between being inspired by a design and completely copying it? These days, not much.

In today’s second edition of this thing looks like that thing, Cellar Paper points out that a pair of Jessica Simpson Evangela heels look an awful lot like Christian Louboutin‘s Staratata heels. Simpson sports the heels in an advertisment in Elle‘s April issue, for which she’s also the naked cover girl. The Simpson sandals cost $98, while the Louboutin shoes will set you back $995.

Both pairs feature the same pink and yellow straps, black and purple sole, and contrast buckle. The only difference between them is that Simpson’s doesn’t have red lacquer on the bottom — which actually doesn’t even matter because her pair is basically a carbon copy.

Definitely a knock-off by Simpson’s shoe licensor. Too bad this is totally legal to do in the US! – http://www.thefashionlaw.org

Yay for Jessica…bringing fashion to the masses…who can afford the other?? Not many…sad.

I agree with the normal working people its great to get a small taste of something we cab afford. Who the heck in the real world can buy 1000 dollar shoes on a whim for an evening. Lets keep it real people.. The ladies that can afford the red soled shoe more power too ya but for me I can’t but I love having a small taste of wat it might feel like. Just saying.. People really need to deal in reality soon..
