Jessica Simpson Wears No Makeup For Marie Claire… Really?

Marie Claire’s May issue claims Jessica Simpson is makeup-free and un-retouched on their cover. We call bullshit.

Does she look gorgeous? Absolutely! Did the magazine’s makeup artist do their best to make it look light and oh-so-natural? Most definitely. But do we see mascara, concealer and maybe even a hint of blush? Hell yes.

We’ll give them the no airbrushing claim. Simpson’s skin looks naturally luminescent and, more importantly, it looks like skin, not plastic.

We like where Marie Claire is going with this au naturel thing — their counterparts in France published their April issue sans retouches — but we don’t need models and actresses to be makeup free, just human.
