Maternity Designer Jessica Simpson: ‘I Don’t Really Love Maternity Stuff’
Just because she’s pregnant does’t mean Jessica Simpson is going to swaddle around in muumuus and oversize sweaters. In fact, the singer/designer/actress/business lady says that she hasn’t bought a single piece of maternity clothing during her pregnancy — and she doesn’t intend to.

At a press conference for hew new fashion reality show Fashion Star yesterday, Simpson told reporters that even though she’s adding a collection of maternity clothes to her burgeoning fashion empire, she doesn’t wear them herself. What she saw as a lack of stylish maternity clothes is what prompted Simpson to start working on clothes for expectant mothers in the first place.

“I definitely look at comfort, I buy bigger sizes,” Simpson said. “I haven’t really gone to maternity clothes because I don’t really love maternity stuff.”
Bigger sizes of the curve-hugging designs she creates already? We guess whatever works works, but we hope simple supersizing won’t be her strategy when it comes to working on that maternity line.
