Jimmy Fallon And Bruce Springsteen Cover ‘Whip My Hair’

Willow Smith’s girl power anthem “Whip My Hair” is well on its way to becoming an American classic, and last night’s duet by Jimmy Fallon (as Neil Young) and Bruce Springsteen only furthered the cause.

Acoustic, unfettered, and sung with a wonderfully yearning tenor by Fallon (as Young), “Whip My Hair” sounded at once old and brand new. And then Springsteen joined in — dressed as himself 30 years ago — and everyone’s heads exploded.

Willow Smith, you’ve done America proud.

At the ’97 MTV Awards, Bruce joined Jakob Dylan and the Wallflowers to perform “One Headlight” and after the performance, host Adam Sandler who has a pretty good Springsteen impersonation in his repertoire was beside himself with envy.

Since then, Bruce has performed with a select group of other artists, but as far as I can find, he’s never done the “Lunch Lady Song” with Sandler. So, the sight of his idol doing a novelty cover with a comedian in character may be enough to push Adam over the edge.

Good clip. It has the funny. Thanks for the share.
