WATCH: Joan Rivers’ Closet Is Filled With Valentino She Customized Herself
Joan Rivers might not have anything nice to say about Betty White, but she has plenty of good things to say about fashion — and after decades of collecting (and customizing) the work of some of the world’s most talented designers, we probably would, too.
Rivers took Time Out New York on a tour of her “tiny” closet, which is filled to the brim with things she’s either bought, designed for QVC or that got handed down to her by her mother. It’s a mix — and she says she loves mixing things together because clothing should make you feel good.
Fashion should make you feel happy. We’re all our own Barbie doll. Anyone who takes fashion seriously is a fool. What’s the wrost that’s going to happen. You’re going to go out somewhere, and you’re going to put something on and you’re going to look like an idiot? So what? You can take it off. It doesn’t matter. Fashion is about, “Oh let’s try it. Let’s feel bright and hip and young and modern and good.” That’s why I love fashion.
Emphasis ours. Take a look at the things Rivers loves, plus the fancy things she’s put fur collars on, below.
