How Do You Feel About French Lingerie For Little Girls?

Controversies involving the sexualization of young French girls just keep piling up. First there was that Vogue Paris spread, then there was the uproar over one of its stars, 10-year-old model Thylane Blondeau. Now a lingerie line called Jours Après Lunes is raising some eyebrows.

Fashionista came across the brand, which specializes in loungerie (a lingerie-loungewear hybrid, apparently) for girls aged three months and older. As the site reads, it is “dedicated to ‘loungerie’ for children and teenagers, comprised of loungewear and lingerie to be worn over and under, inside and outside.” While the infant and toddler selection is comprised of cute little onesies, the “daughter” selection (for girls ages 4-12) is decidedly lingerie-like. By the way, the word “daughter” is used because some of the pieces come in matching “mother” sizes.

Thinking about 4-year-olds in underwear styles that their moms could wear is disturbing, right? Well, the website images won’t make you feel any better. Photos of little girls posing in their underwear makes us feel weird! Do you agree? Check out the pics below.

Totally inappropriate. I don’t remember ever seeing children’s undergarments advertised with the kids actually wearing them. Maybe if they used mannequins. Too many perverts out there that would like this kind of thing and shame on the parents for letting the kids model for these photos.

The first image with the girl in the striped swimsuit maybe? reminds me The Parent Trap when Lindsay wasnot yet drug-lesbo-addict… ^.^

Why is this news? Lingerie/underwear/bras/frilly panties for little girls have been around for years.  A quick look around any neighborhood department stores girls section, will garner you an array of styles. A quick search on amazon will also find you bra & panty sets for little girls, many of which have less material than the French girls lingerie depicted here.
You might want to take a look at this BH&Gs ad for little girls bra & panty sets.

The year the ad ran is 1959.

joyfull40.. the difference is that lingerie is meant to be sexy underwear. childrens underwear in NO WAY needs to be sexy. ask yourself… why do women wear lingerie? why do 4 year old girls need to wear lingerie?.. for what reason??

  • Charlener04

There are a lot of perverts, pedophile, molesters and this is disturbing. Lingerie is meant to be worn for woman, to be sexy not for children who are innocent and know nothing about being sexy. There are underwear and bras for children but never displayed in this way it is on a mannequin or a table. Lingerie is meant for older women not children and it should stay that way!

  • Jdiggs1

We train every little girl to like frilly pretty underthings. Almost from their first lace cover diaper cover. Although there is a vast difference from buying them geranimals in the age appropriate section at Macy’s. To ordering items that calling childrens underware lingerine. Don’t we sexualize our youth early enough already. And whats vogues next “obession” going to be a two year old wearing a wig and a diaper??

  • thanya

This is WRONG WRONG WRONG! Who is leading this kind of industry that perpetuates such a disgusting image? After the recent revelations made by Corey Feldman about the late Corey Haim and the charges against the movie industry should this really surprise you? Shame on the company who introduced this line. SHAME ON YOU.

  • Stephreneeclark

very weird. would be nice if kids could just be kids til at least 18.  i am 37 and now enjoy things of childhood.  it’s actually a much nicer life to forget the vanity and use your life for something that really matters!!!!!!

  • Amn Maguire

    And
what exactly are we teaching young women to value and how to value
themselves and essentially isn’t this debasing women by implicitly
suggesting their self worth is contingent on their ability to pull
off a lingerie set, at the age of 9? Forgive the question, but do
girls even have breasts to show when they are 9?

  • Joyfull40

So many hypocrites commenting here. This little girls lingerie is no different (alebit it does has more body coverage)  than the skimpy two piece bikini swim suits seen on little girls across America, and elsewhere.

Why is it that a swimsuit that barely covers a little girls body is considered cute, but underwear that covers more of the childs body, has you all gasping in disgust?

As far as I’m concerned, the only thing that people are finding offensive here, is the fact this is a French ad. More and more, Americans seem to be adopting a hate on for anything French.

If the tables were turned & this was an American ad with American girls wearing American made lingerie,  there’d be no hesitation in Mommies across the country rushing out & purchasing a piece or two for their little princesses.

  • LadyV

its not the French that we find deplorable. This “Ad” depicts itself like an adult lingerie ad you would see for Victoria’s Secret. These are little girls being exploited and placed in “provacative” positions to sell underwear. There are perverts and pedophiles who love disgusting stuff like this.
People need to STOP SEXUALIZING CHILDREN!! What is wrong with the world?!!

Sorry Joyfull40 but Americans don’t put our children in sick exploitive ads to be apart of some pedophiles dark and dangerous thoughts.

and don’t act rightous Europe is infamous for human trafficking.

  • Telasa1821

You are ignorant, not everyone thinks that a bikini is apropriate for children, and why is this turning into America vs. France?? That is a ridiculous rationalization!! These girls a babies! They are in skimpy lingerie, with makeup, provacative poses, and sex kitten hair, DISGUSTING!!! I dont care if the ad came from Germany, Italy or Japan, it should NEVER be acceptable! And I dont give a damn if it was a American ad, it is child pornography and it is absolutely deplorable, you are disgusting for even sticking up for something like that, you are probably one of the people that have a picture like this for your screensaver, I dont see why any normal adult would EVER condone something like this, why would you think that this is acceptable? You are one of the people that us decent human beings are trying to shield these images from, in my book anyone who defends this child porn is a PERVERT!!!

  • Joyfull40

I’d say it was the other way around on who is the pervert here. Anyone who’s mind automatically turns to the term ‘sex kitten’ when it comes to girls in an underwear ad, or any other clothing ad, with any style of hairdo, has been spending too much time doing what they shouldn’t.

  • Dave

Perhaps you should know…this is simply perverted eye candy for the rich and powerful pedophiles…either you’re in denial or one of them.

  • Heartsong My

I consider this to be child porn-should be charged.

  • Jackiewaynef

Your absolutely right and I for one would not buy these items from the company who is promoting their items through modelling children in them.  Totally inappropriate.  Shame on you people and to the parents of these kids as well.

  • Debbiecorrigan1

I think that children’s  products in general  need to be specific to what the children are doing at the time. There  is no importance for clothing this grown up to be on such young children when they barely can understand their own bodies and what this kind of statement  says  to the world . This only provokes  those who take advantage of children and gives them permission to continue this behavoiour..  This is not play clothing and we need to allow children to be exactly what they are, Children.

  • Moi!

    I
believe the word in French is “couchon” – well, if its not, in
English, its ‘PIG’. That is basically the status of all those involved in the
decision-making process as well as the production process of this AD CAMPAIN
(as in Camera Pain). I sympathize for the children primarily, though I would
only imagine to what extent their parent(s) knew of the intended resulting
    images.

    Shame on
    all.

    I was
directed to this site via a news story & actually feel like spraying down
my studio for having such images displayed. Art? Beauty? Perhaps, though so too
are the same images ripping the very essence of a last bastion of civility we
as humans would care to protect with a mighty vengeance – that being the innocence
& sanctity of our children & youth – every single one of them at any
    given moment.

    This is
an assault on the entire global audience yet once again, in the guise of ‘marketing
    fashion’. Hmmmm.

    The top
4 individuals of this campaign are either childless, have only boys, are
majority (but not limited to) male, and or are simple indiscriminate or closet pedophiliac,
self-serving pigs. That’s the raw image here, actually. Blunt, meet blunt. Fire
    & charge them all, already.

    Perhaps
make examples of THEM publicly, to show the silent MAJORITY these public SNIPER
campaigns are not welcome on our planet, seeing that they were so willing to
splash this trash as they’ve just done.

  • DMJ

I see nothing wrong here people! Kids are exploring, might as well let them explore with you than behind you. I support this 100% and have always supported my dauthers to wear what they feel like. They know the limit. So do you, I’m for it and if you are not….don’t buy at all. Cause I will!

  • Carole

This is very sad to see what fashsion has come too, young babies girls being uses as sex objects. To me the french fashion industry should be ashame they are just as bad as the perverats out there that rape our little girls now we our undressing them and posting them in magazine and on the internet, what is our world coming too. Its no wonder there is no respect in our socitiy these days…….some one needs to save  our baby girls and stop this discusing display of innocent into sexy object……..these are our little girls

  • SickSadWorld

Distributing sexual images of children is illegal in the US. This is a French campaign, but how does a US blog get away with posting them? Stylite, are you trying to distribute child pornography?

  • Michelle Tunstall01

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO??? :O Its scary to think that these young GIRLS are parading around looking like that….God bless them….

  • Youtube

    imbecil. un maniqui?

  • H. Kaplan

Great attitude DMJ!  USA people make a big deal and fuss over things that are really a waste of time to make a big “stink” over.  Furthermore, they think they are the Gods of the moral society, imposing their values as being the ONLY acceptable ones, and, that they dictate to the whole country, what is right and wrong, thinking that anyone who opposes what they think is a (sexual, or otherwise) degenerate, and should be sent to prison for life.

    Great analogy Joyfull40!
I have also noticed that, for example, when attractive looking girls are modeling the “questionable” clothing, the people who think they set the moral values of the USA society, get outraged and “gasping in disgust” as you put it.  If the same clothing were on fat, not so cute, or otherwise unattractive models, little if any comments would be made.

  • Mascott909

Not hating because its a French ad I am offended at the way they are using children to sell them.  The under garments are pretty and I would not mind getting some for my grand child. LLet the little girls be girls and but the panties back on the tables.

You are an embecile. This is sick.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/Q2CCOKLQORRQL56QUPN25E554U Hope

I don’t think that was meant to be a swimsuit, honey. It is like a bra and panties.

  • SKATERBOY5_2008

  • asdfasdf

you’re all fucking idiots, drink my cum y’all

  • Just Saying

I think it’s up to the parents to what there kids wear. If people would keep there nose on there own face and out everybodys else’s business the world would be much more peaceful. After all who are you to pass judgment on others, your not GOD!!! Mind your own life’s and stay out of others.
