And any person with common sense will tell you that a having a court date, even in Sweden, means hauling out a suit and trying to look good while all of your worst fears and darkest secrets are aired right in front of your face.
But a man of international renown (no matter how ambiguous that renown is or isn’t) should do more than just throw on a black suit and tie and call it a day — even if that’s what most other celebrities do when they’re on trial. Instead, Assange should put his best, government-secret-revealingest foot forward and present himself the way he wants to be seen, a description which probably involves the words serious, somber and innocent.
