Julie Bowen Covers Lucky And Talks Her Worst Fashion Faux-Pas
Ever since she rocked a floor length neon gown at the 2012 Emmys, Julie Bowen has been on our radar, even if the character she plays on Modern Family is a firm proponent of the mom jeans and sweater set combination. But the pretty blonde actress hasn’t always had a great grasp on fashion trends. She covers Lucky Magazine‘s April issue, and opened up to her interviewer about being more of a sartorial victim at times than an icon during her time in the spotlight.
“It took me forever to invest in new shoe booties,” she notes. “I had all these pairs from the ’90s, and all the other shoes in my closet were pointing at them and laughing.”
So, she invested in a stylist — one with a body of clientele that includes 22-year old Kristen Stewart, who Bowen says gets first dibs on the “amazing” and “funky” pieces that get shopped to the two stars. “It was a big evolution in style for me to grow up and say ‘I need to take fashion seriously for my job.’ I have a stylist now,” she says, “And she’s trying to get me to wear more revealing stuff.”
Revealing like K-Stew’s oddball Erdem number from the On the Road circuit? Let’s hope not.
