PHOTOS: Kanye West’s $300,000 BET Bling

Scorned star Kanye West may have made a comeback performance during Sunday’s BET Awards, but the post-show buzz focused mainly on Kanye’s gigantic and Egyptian-inspired adornments. Well, in the last 24 hours, detailed information on the jewels — which honestly looked as if they were personally thieved from the Pyramid tombs themselves — surfaced, including up-close angle shots and a six-figure price tag.

We’ll admit, when we first saw close-ups of the super-sized adornments, we couldn’t wait for the details. As it turns out, the jeweler behind this ambition is none other than hip-hop’s go-to supplier of some of today’s most ridiculous bling, Jacob the Jeweler. So it should come as no surprise that each of the 24k gold pieces retail for $300,000.

Other than the Horus chain eyesore, the other half of the two-piece collection is a pyramid-topped brass knuckle.

Kanyewest.com goes into minor depth on the significance of the designs, explains why the Egyptian deity is the apple to West’s eyes:

Horus is one of the oldest and most significant deities in the Ancient Egyptian religion, who was worshipped from at least the late Predynastic period through to Greco-Roman times.Horus served many functions in the Egyptian pantheon, most notably being the god of the Sky, god of War and god of Protection.

Here are the detailed images of the two pieces as provided by the website. Does this look worthy of a $300,000 price tag?
