In Honor Of Karen Elson, A Brief History Of Models Singing

Karen Elson’s debut album debut album, “The Ghost Who Walks,” dropped last week and the flame-haired model is already receiving some seriously positive reviews. But not all models-turned-singers fare so well — though some have certainly come close — and in honor of those who came before Ms. Elson, we’ve compiled a brief history of models who (tried to) sing, in video form, of course.

First up, Karen Elson, whose acoustic version of her first single, “The Ghost Who Walks” is hauntingly beautiful.

When talking about models singing, one would be entirely remiss in not including Naomi Campbell’s ill-fated attempt in 1995 with her single, “Love and Tears.”

A more recent and relatively successful example would be Agyness Deyn’s collaboration with Five O’Clock Heroes for their song “Who.”

Though she hasn’t released a song of her own, Kate Moss has made no shortage of surprise performances with her ex-boyfriend’s band Babyshambles, in addition to recording a song with Primal Scream.

>>>>NEXT: Milla Jovovich, Carla Bruni, Heidi Klum, and of course, Tyra Banks…
