Karl Lagerfeld’s Choupette: ‘Even My Fur Balls Are Glossy’

We follow Choupette on Twitter, have cooed over her fashion spreads, and just generally chronicle her every move, but how does Karl Lagerfeld‘s beloved cat spend her days with the Kaiser?

Grazia got its claws on Choupette’s diary, and packed its Big Fashion Issue with cuddly pics and notable quotables. From hanging out in the cockpit of a private plane to getting cozy with frenemy Hudson Kroenig, this is one seriously pampered pet.

1.She sits with the pilots in the cockpit!

'When Karl is traveling (which is a lot), I generally go too, I stay with the pilot in the cockpit. He travels by private plane so we are not hassled by those awful security lines. I would not tolerate a search: the security screening gives my fur terrible static! I look like a pom pom by the time they are through with me!'

2.Girl's got a big crush on Joshua Jackson — who doesn't?

'I much prefer it if someone blonde pops by. That Laeticia Casta or Diane Kruger are rather wonderful and I purr extra loudly for Joshua Jackson if he comes with her.'

3.She has more-than-regular check-ups at the vet.

'Karl schedules visits to the vet for me every 10 days, just to make sure I am in tip top condition. I have a full regime of vitamins and supplements to keep my coat glossy. You may think I am high maintenance, but I assure you, the attention is worth it. Even my fur balls are glossy.'

4.She also likes to do chores.

'Because they are such dears, I do try to take time out of my busy schedule to help Françoise and Marie with some housework. I like dusting. I love sweeping. But I won’t get my paws wet. I have been known to get busy with the dustbin on collection day. The less said about that the better, probably.'

5.And likes to play hide-and seek?

'Many felines have a difficult time training their humans to understand their particular needs. I have found the opposite, I would recommend to any pet who would like to be pampered to find a home with a fashion icon.

6.But hates Brad Kroenig's son Hudson.

'Karl makes time for all his friends. Karl’s godson might pop by. How I HATE that boy! I call him 'la Terreur' but he is very cute and nearly as beautiful as I am. Then I have to exercise every fibre of my feline restraint because children have absolutely NO RESPECT for elegance. He treats me like a toy, which tests my patience to the limit.'
