Karl Lagerfeld To Debut Olympic Collection At Selfridge’s

Karl Lagerfeld is one of those rare designers who is as recognizable as the clothing he designs. He’s already an icon apart from his work at Chanel, and now he’s doubling his efforts to grow an eponymous brand all his own.

Lagerfeld will be invading London on July 24 for an appearance at the launch of his new luxury men’s label, Karl Lagerfeld Paris Man, which will be sold at Selfridge’s, WWD says. But that’s not the only floor space the Kaiser is getting at the British department store. He’s also designing an Olympic-themed capsule collection called Team Karl for the retailer, and the men’s and women’s fall collections of his diffusion line, Karl, will be sold there.

This move is part of an effort by Karl Lagerfeld BV to create a brand with more mass appeal and wider range. Kaiser Karl is building his own fashion empire — thankfully he has Choupette to support him.
