Karolina Kurkova Doesn’t Like To Watch Herself On The Face
But Kurkova found that the least enjoyable part of being on a reality show is actually watching herself on TV. “Oh, I don’t like that,” she told us this morning after the Michael Kors show. “I actually wasn’t watching myself [last night], I [couldn't] do it.”
That’s not to say that The Face is Kurkova’s first time mentoring and eliminating budding models. She was on Das perfekte Model, a show similar to Germany’s Next Top Model, in the summer of 2012. Of course, we’d never seen it considering it only aired on German television, so she recapped it for us:
“I was also a coach and mentoring these girls, and it’s something like I really enjoy. We showed the girls what models really do, and what they need to know. And really kind of introduced them to that whole industry. Not just how to be models, but how to be art directors, how to style, [and to] have a sense of style — everything that you need to understand your craft! You need to know who stylists are, you need to know what these magazines are, you need to know what kind of career you want to have, and who you are, you know?”
But eliminating contests doesn’t get any easier the second time around with The Face, and is still the toughest thing to do:
“I have to say, all the girls are so great. It’s very hard for me because I love people, I love good people and so it’s like, I have my team, but all the girls are so wonderful. I saw them last night, and it was a really good group of people. We had a great time, and it’s just so nice to see the girls blossom throughout the show, see them in the beginning and end, and how they’ve transformed as people, not just as models.”
We can’t wait.
