Kate Middleton Caught In The Middle Of PETA Anti-Fur Battle

Kate Middleton is a fancy lady! As much as the Duchess of Cambridge plays the normal person card, she’s still a royal, which is why we’re kind of surprised to learn she doesn’t wear fur.

She was recently photographed in a fake fur-lined coat, which the International Fur Trade Federation mistook for a coat with real fur lining. The IFTF posted a picture of Kate in the jacket on its website, which pissed off PETA. PETA got in touch with Duchess Catherine’s people, who sent a letter explaining the following:

Her Royal Highness was not wearing fur. The coat was not lined with fur. We therefore insist that you remove the photo from your social media page and issue an immediate public retraction of your claim. To state that the Duchess is wearing fur is not only false but offensive…to portray the new Duchess wearing something so blatantly cruel and contrary to her country’s values is insulting.

But is it really contrary to her country’s values? The royal family hunts for sport! But, while Kate has indeed gone hunting with Prince William and co. in the past, she has apparently decided to forgo any such activities anymore.

Glad to see she has decided to not wear fur, and not hunt for game even if he husband and his family have decided to participate in such a barbaric sport. I mean its one thing to hunt if you plan on eating the animal, but that’s just cruel
I know its not any better, but I buy my meat at the store, rather than hunting my self because I can’t stand personally killing anothe living thing even if it would die anyway.

Good for Ms Middleton opting out of wearing fur. Hopefully her doing so, will influence many other young women to not wear fur, or stop wearing fur as well.  Peta on the other hand, needs to quit jumping the gun & get their facts straight before they condemn a person wearing fake fur. It makes them and their cause come across as unreliable, and in Ms Middletons case, utterly stupid.

As for the royals hunting for sport, we have no right to criticize them when we’re just as bad, if not worse, when it comes to killing animals & birds for sport.

See how proud the mighty hunters look holding their dead swans.

Your exuse is lame. Buying your meat from the store is the same as participating in the hunting of animals & birds for sport.

The only difference being, in sport hunting the animals & birds were never confined, they had room to move around where ever they wished.

They were never force fed so they’d be fat & plump before slaughter.

They were never debeaked & crammed 5 to 6 in a cage barely big enough for 1.

They were never fed growth hormones & god knows what else, so they’d produce more eggs, or grow bigger, faster.

They were never kept in filthy uncleaned cages until they were big enough to be basically, skinned alive for their fur.

They were never confined to a metal holding pen so narrow & small, they had no room to turn or lay down, which in turn, had them going slowly insane from not being able to move.

They were never kept from moving around & kept in complete darkness so their meat would be tender & white.

That..  Is just a sampling of the difference in the lives of wild animals & birds, and animals & birds raised for human consumption.

You know, the meat & fowl you buy from your store.

All the journalist had to do was to check the LK Bennet website to determine whether it was real or fake fur. So that’s what journalism has come to – making allegations with not even the simplist effort to determine the truth of the issue. No wonder the fashion  press isn’t taken seriously.
