Kate Is In America! And She’s Wearing Diane von Furstenberg!

After a successful Canadian tour full of lovely sleeved dresses, maple leaves, and only one wardrobe malfunction, Kate Middleton has arrived on American soil for the very first time. Welcome, Duchess Catherine!

We’re dying to see what the fairer half of the royal couple will wear to tonight’s star-studded BAFTA Brits to Watch gala, but she certainly made some fantastic choices during her first day in the States. She left Canada in a proper red dresscoat (obviously embellished with the Queen‘s maple leaf pin), and emerged from the plane in Los Angeles in a glamorous pale blue frock. The Roksanda Ilincic sheath had flattering draping and an exposed zipper down the back.

Wasting no time during their short stay in California, Kate and Prince William went straight to Variety‘s Venture Capital and New Media Summit at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The pair attended a reception at the British Consul-General’s house later in the evening, and Kate did her earlier ensemble one better. She chose a dress by none other than Diane von Furstenberg, a smart move considering DVF is the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. It also happened to be an amazing shade of green, had sleeves, and fit her perfectly. Yes, we love it.

    If she was any thinner she would disappear. Lovely color, but boring dress!

    Agree with Lindt2009. Green looks lovely on her, as do all colours she’s worn, but the dress itself, is blah.

    I think her smile is her 2nd best accessory. Beautiful!  But those legs of hers go on forever! They come in as number 1 in my book! The dress colors are lovely, as well. I do think this working trip has literally melted pounds from her already thin frame. The last 6 months have been incredibly busy for both she and William but, the last 11 days have seemed as though they were running a gauntlet!  Work! Work! Work! They truly put their backs into it! I’m sincerely impressed by this couple. When they return home I hope they’ll both be hungry. She’s adorable but is verging on scary skinny (like Anjelina Jolie). Even so, her legs are STILL phenomenal! Someone should present her with an award for “Best Stems Ever!”
