Kate Middleton And Prince William Have Been Very Accurately Waxed

To celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s one-year anniversary in April, the royal couple was immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds. The famous wax museum unveiled six different wax figures that will be showcased at the London, New York, and Amsterdam locations.

According to Grazia, the Madame Tussauds in London debuted recreations of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the day of their official engagement announcement. From the curls in her hair to the ruching on her blue Issa dress, to the giant sapphire engagement ring, the details on Middleton’s wax figure are amazingly (and creepily) accurate. Oh, and Prince William looks good, too.

The New York location of Madame Tussauds will house Middleton in the lilac McQueen gown she wore in Los Angeles, while Amsterdam will show off the couple at the “War Horse” premiere in London. Middleton wore a stunning black lace Temperley dress and Will strutted his stuff in a tux.

A fourth set of wax figures will be unveiled at Blackpool later this month and will feature Middleton in a sparkly Jenny Packham number. The Mirror reports that creating the wax figures took four months and cost nearly $1.5 million — yowza.

Check out some of the wax figures in the gallery below. Tell us below if you would go see the Duke and Duchess in the flesh — err, wax — if you could.

Ok this is a really depressing thought at such a fun happening, but I’m sure Kate Middleton and Price William will be visiting the Museum to christen the release of their wax statues (maybe? I assumed since it’s a London staple, they’d do the whole ordeal and do an appearance), but how terribly weird/sad/morbid would it be to see your deceased beloved mother as a wax statue? I would NOT be able to compose myself in front of press if I saw that.
