PHOTOS: Kate Middleton Channels Stevie Nicks In Sheer Temperley

We’ve been missing the London Olympics lately — and not just because Ryan Lochte now only appears on our screens for quick cameos on 30 Rock. It looks like Kate Middleton is pining for those halcyon days, too, long before an ill-fated sunbathing incident turned into a tabloid frenzy and a handful of ugly lawsuits, back when everything was just matching polo shirts, funny faces, and failed attempts at doing the wave. Luckily, the Duchess got the chance to chat about all the fun she had at the Games when she hosted a reception yesterday evening for Team GB Olympic and Paralympic athletes, along with Prime Minister David Cameron and a smattering of other political types.

Middleton opted for a black Temperley London dress with a sheer panel at the neck and arms, ruffled sleeves, and gold floral embellishment. She paired the rather bohemian ensemble with her black Jimmy Choo pumps and, of course, a glossy blowout, making the whole look a little less Haight Ashbury and a little more Buckingham Palace.

According to WWD, the Duchess took the opportunity to tell equestrian Paralympic medalist Lee Pearson that she’s learning to ride horseback (hint, hint, nudge, nudge) and, like any good KMids admirer, he offered to help her out with some lessons. How chivalrous!

As usual, she looks like she is about to go milk the cows in the barn. She looks like a village girl, you put the prettiest dress on her and she still looks blaahhhhh!

All this money spent on media making a big deal out of her and it is not working! It just isn’t working! She hasn’t got it!
