Kate Middleton Wins Injunction Against Closer Over Topless Pics

The legal battle is far from finished over the topless images of Kate Middleton published last week by French tabloid Closer, but the first dispute was settled this morning in a civil court in Nanterre. The judge has ordered Closer Magazine France to submit all photographs and devices on which they are stored within 24 hours, reports WWD. They must also agree not to sell or republish the photos, which were taken while the royal couple was sunbathing in a private chateau in the South of France.

Lawyer Aurélien Hamelle, who famously represented John Galliano at his high-profile trial last year, was also seeking an injunction that would order the current issue be removed from newsstands, however that was not granted.

But if this all seems a little too quick and painless, the report notes that proceedings for criminal charges and civil damages will likely stretch on for months, so don’t expect this story to get swept under the rug anytime soon.

  • Can We Breathe??

I love Kate–I hope she gets her wishes. But I hope she knows that she can’t take her top off in public. Unless the “private” chateau had no windows, or a floor above or below to see her. Then she’s fine. Don’t knowall the details. But unfortunately, I guess they won’t let you be comfortable anymore, so. But maybe, it’s a good thing! With Camillia P. and Prince Harry, the world will maybe change a bit and except you all as humans!!?? Sorry about it. Peace and good luck!!
