PHOTOS: Topless Pictures Of Kate Middleton Uncovered
Fresh off one nudity scandal, the royal family has another one on its hands. This time, the honor belongs to Kate Middleton, who was photographed sunbathing topless while on vacation in Provence with husband Prince William. French tabloid Closer has published the shots, and since Wills makes an appearance, it’s no denying the photos are the real deal. The palace has issued a statement to the BBC, reporting that the royal couple are horrified by the “grotesque and unjustifiable invasion of privacy” and are considering bringing a lawsuit against the photographer, the magazine, or both. The statement continued:
“The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the duke and duchess for being so. Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them. Officials acting on behalf of their Royal Highnesses are consulting with lawyers to consider what options may be available to the duke and duchess.”
It’s true — sunbathing outside a private, removed house is hardly on par with playing strip billiards with strangers in a hotel suite.
UPDATE: The royal family has made good on their threat of legal action and has filed a lawsuit against the publication, reports TMZ.
