How Much Does Kate Middleton’s Wardrobe Cost?
Kate Middleton‘s wardrobe may be filled with high-street pieces from Zara and Whistles, but there’s also a smattering of Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham pieces in there. Prince Charles, who will soon reveal his financials to the public for the first time since the royal wedding, has divulged that Kate’s clothes have cost $54,440 this year alone — and it’s only June.
According to the Daily Mail, Prince Charles foots the bill for Kate’s work-related ensembles through his Royal Household budget, which sounds like a super fancy expense account. Anyway, that means he pays for all those pretty dresses and hats, which makes him the best father-in-law ever. Interestingly, Prince William doesn’t pay for Kate’s wardrobe because he only earns around $68,438 annually as a search and rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force. Wills inherited $15.5 million when he turned 30 last week, but that’s considered his private income.
But before we all start judging the price of Kate’s wardrobe, let’s do some comparing. Last year, Prince Charles’s personal expenditures came out to around $3.8 million, and he earned a whopping $30 million from his Duchy of Cornwall estate. So really, Kate’s wardrobe costs pennies.
“I think it was quite fantastic that there was a split up the front. That picture of a woman when you catch a little of the leg, that’s what you want to see. It’s that notion of privacy. It’s something that should be for her husband, and she just shows a glimpse of it, and I think that is one of the more amazing moments of life. You feel happy when you see that. It was not too much. It was with a lot of respect. Yes, I think I did … quite well. She’s a fantastic person to work with. She’s a woman of her time She’s very aware of her position and she’s a really nice person. She’s human. It’s really nice to work with someone in her position. It’s … historic, yes.
