PHOTOS: Kate Moss Weds In Custom, Comfy-Looking Galliano Gown
Because we haven’t mentioned it before, we thought we should let you know it’s Kate Moss‘s wedding day! And as befits the nuptials of any fashion icon, the aisle at Moss’s wedding in England looks more like a catwalk than a church. But not to fret — just because the fashion is high at the wedding doesn’t mean the drama will be. Unless, of course, you can get someone to give you an honest opinion about her wedding dress.
Grazia Daily confirmed early this morning that Moss is, in fact, wearing a creation of embattled designer John Galliano, who we’re forced to believe might be losing his touch after all his legal troubles. The dress looks weirdly like a floor-length neglige decorated with golden sequins. It’s a slip, with a train? And while we’re not sure it’s the most flattering of designs (actually, we know it’s not the most flattering of designs — Moss should have worn something a little more structured, maybe with a more aggressive sleeve, instead of something she could take a very glamourous nap in), she looks comfortable in it, and we’re sure it makes her feel beautiful. And that’s the most important thing, right? Right?
We also know that she’s wearing a pair of bespoke Manolo Blahnik stilettos underneath that dress, and that all of her bridesmaids are wearing dresses from different designers.
Hince, the groom, wore a double-breasted blue suit custom designed by Yves Saint Laurent‘s Stefano Pilati, and so did his bandmate Alison Mosshart. Naomi Campbell is there in Givenchy Couture, and she’ll change into a different couture dress from designer Riccardo Tisci for tonight’s reception. Daphne Guinness is there, and while we don’t know what she’s wearing, we do know that she arrived with milliner Philip Treacy. So she’s probably wearing one of his hats.
All in all, it’s a pretty fashion-forward wedding. We’ll post more pictures as soon as we can get our hands on them, but in the mean time, what do you think of Moss’s slinky dress?
