PHOTO: Kate & Prince William’s Vanity Fair Cover Is Here!
As we reported this weekend, Kate and Prince William will grace the July cover of Vanity Fair. And, behold, here is the cover!
Can we just say that we’re more than a little disappointed by the photo? We were promised an outtake of sorts from Mario Testino‘s engagement portraits. And while this picture was indeed taken by Testino during the portrait session (the royal couple is wearing the outfits seen here), it looks like a tabloid shot! Why the harsh flash, Mario, why?! Couldn’t we have gotten nice, soft lighting and some narrow depth of field action? Instead, the cover feels cheap. Sigh.
Also, we’re pretty sure VF royal correspondent Katie Nicholl didn’t actually sit down with the pair for an interview. Regardless, it seems like she did scrounge up some interesting dish. For example, did you know that Will and Kate should be called Prince William and Princess Catherine instead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge? According to Nicholl, “Will made it clear at the wedding that he will continue to be addressed as Prince William, meaning Kate by default will be Princess Catherine.” Well then! Now we know!
Check out the cover below. Love it, hate it, or oh-so-indifferent?
