Kate Upton To Skip Out On Fashion Week, Super Bowl Nachos

Just because she’s landed herself a few Vogue covers and earned the Anna Wintour seal of approval doesn’t mean you’ll be seeing Kate Upton dominating the catwalk this season. In fact, the model is choosing to forgo Fashion Week entirely.
Upton told The Cut that, during the New York shows, she’ll be busy promoting this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue with events in NYC and Las Vegas. But even if she wasn’t fully booked, the model might eschew the runways. “Fashion shows were just never part of my goals,” she explained. “It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I never really found the need to walk in them.”
SI is more her speed, she explains, although she has no clue as to whether she’ll make the cover again, nor whether it will go to newbie Hannah Davis:
“’I find out with everyone else,’ she said. ‘Nobody ever believes me when I say that, and it’s 100 percent the truth. Trust me, I complain all the time. I feel like I should get a little hint, like a preview or something, but even last year when I got the cover, I found out on David Letterman like the rest of the world.’”
One thing Upton does know is where she will be this Sunday: at the Super Bowl with her family. For those of us who will be watching at home, this means we may get the chance to catch a glimpse of the blonde bombshell in the stands even before we see her Mercedes Benz commercials make their small screen debut.
But while she’ll be watching the game, the model won’t be indulging in too many of the deep fried, cheesy snacks the day is known for:
“’I have to work the day after, so honestly, I’m not going to have nachos,’ she said. ‘I’m very disappointed, but I can’t splurge. I hate exercising self-control.’”
Self-control really is the worst, isn’t it?
