SURPRISE: Kate Winslet Is Married (And Leo Was There!)

Kate Winslet got married earlier this month in a super secret ceremony to Ned Rocknroll, née Abel Smith). Congrats!

Details are sparse, obviously, but Winslet’s camp tells the Daily Mail:

“I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock’nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family. The couple had been engaged since the summer.”

Both of the newlyweds’ parents had no idea about the wedding, but Leonardo DiCaprio did. He even gave her away! Winslet’s ring was designed by Charles Goode of Goode & Son, a private London jeweler and a good friend of the couple. The company has even loaned pieces to Winslet for several red carpet appearances.

Rocknroll (that last name, lol) is the nephew of Virgin Group‘s Sir Richard Branson, and this is his second marriage. His first to Eliza Cowdray in 2009 lasted about a year. This is the third marriage for Winslet — she married Jim Threapleton in 1998, with whom she had daughter Mia, and Sam Mendes in 2003, with whom she had son Joe.

So, who designed her dress? No deets on that yet, but we’d put good money on Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
