Kate Winslet Is ‘Sincerely Grateful For Her Buttocks’
Kate Winslet covers the May 30th issue of Vanity Fair Italia and she looks smokin’.
The 37-year-old actress sports a sequin blazer and a badass wrap watch, topped with smoldering eye makeup and tousled locks. Inside the issue, Winslet talks about taking a break from the business, her ordinary lifestyle, and of course, her weight.
Winslet’s been in the acting biz for 20 years, so naturally, her weight fluctuation has been scrutinized from every angle. She says that she used to be bothered by critics who commented on her weight, but not anymore:
It’s one of those things I learned quickly to ignore. Once it was different, it hurt me. When I was twenty I pretended it didn’t bother me, but I felt very bad, I did. In front of journalists and the public I acted superior, but I was dying inside. Now everything is different. It takes time, but you can learn it.”
She also points out that the only person she knows who is a size extra-small is her 11-year-old daughter:
“Honestly, among my acquaintances there is no woman wearing XS. No, sorry, there is one: my daughter. The point is that Mia is 11 years old.”
And here’s more proof that she doesn’t let criticism get to her:
For a woman who has been fighting with weight all of her life, it’s harder.
“I know what you mean, and it’s true that you need much time to get rid of the fat girl you once were, but — you know — I am sincerely grateful for my buttocks. Wow, isn’t this a wonderful line?”
You go, girl.
