Katie Couric Goes Gray!
While we’re not quite ready to pull a Tavi and go gray ourselves, we did spent most of fashion week admiring the signature silver bob of Bergdorf Goodman‘s Linda Fargo, so we’re glad Katie Couric is paying lip service to the tone on today’s hair-themed episode of Katie.
For the show, Couric roamed the streets of New York City in a gray wig, asking passerby to comment on her “new look.” She also enlisted guests like TV personality Wendy Williams and Allure editor-in-chief Linda Wells to share their views and experiences on topics like extensions, dyeing, wigs (Williams has a notoriously huge collection), and embracing your natural hair.
“More and more women these days are going gray,” Couric notes in a press release, “and I decided I wanted to know what it felt like at least on a temporary basis.” Hair is also a hot-button topic right now, with Oprah debuting her natural kinky locks on the cover of O magazine and silver strands continuing to gain traction as a trend in the fashion world.
Any bets on how many Fifty Shades Of Grey references they’ll manage to squeeze in? After all, Katie’s guest yesterday was none other than EL James herself.
