Are Kanye And Kim In Talks With PPR To Launch A Footwear Line?

Whether you like it or not, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have the world (or, at the very least, the Twitter world) at their feet. Now, they want to get your feet into their shoes.

The fame-happy couple is currently in talks with with French fashion magnate and PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault to produce a footwear collection, reports Radar Online. A source claims the trio was spotted lunching at a fancy Massachusetts yacht club last week, discussing heel heights and last shapes over steaming bowls of clam chowder (ok fine, we made that last part up):

“Kim and Kanye had lunch with Francois the other day at the yacht club because they’re trying to negotiate a shoe deal with him. Francois’ company owns Louis Vuitton [Ed note: No they don't. LVMH owns Vuitton. Come on, now.], which Kim and Kanye are obviously both big fans of. Nothing is set in stone yet, but they’re really excited about the potential footwear line.”

We’re sure they are, but what about Pinault? After all, Kimye is a teensy step down from his usual coterie of designers, which at the moment includes such rarefied houses as Gucci, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen. He is, on the other hand, a billionaire, and perhaps could be swayed by the potential for truckloads of cash.

And truckloads of cash they may just bring: who but Kanye could sell a single pair of sneakers for $90,000?

He has also produced some nice-looking pumps for his friend’s fashion week presentation. And these $5K party sandals. Maybe Pinault is on to something here?
