Kristen Stewart Publicly Apologizes For Cheating On Rob
Ok, wow.
Less than 24 hours after news broke that Kristen Stewart was caught on camera cheating on boyfriend Robert Pattinson with married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, she has issued a public apology statement to People magazine.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
We’ve gotta say we’re impressed with Stewart for such honest and matter-of-fact apology, even if her actions were pretty contemptible, especially since Sanders has two young children and his wife Liberty Ross played Stewart’s mother in the film. This isn’t usually the kind of story that would be in our purview, but this is big news as far as celebrity gossip goes (we’re sure Katie Holmes is glad to be able to hand over a few tabloid covers to the Twilight stars) and it wasn’t about to go away any time soon.
UPDATE: Rupert Sanders has now weighed in on the matter via a public statement, reports People:
“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
