The Hunger Games trailer and Breaking Dawn, Part One premiere both in one day? It’s a veritable embarrassment of riches! Kristen Stewart, despite hurting her ankle while filming Snow White and the Huntsman, braved the step and repeat in sky-high stilettos and a J. Mendel gown with an equally thigh-high slit, a surprising commitment for an actress with a penchant for Converse on the carpet.

Stewart’s black and purple sequined, pseudo-houndstooth print dress from Mendel’s Spring 2012 collection is stunning and the high crew neck plays perfectly off the boldness of the slit. Simple hair, a single statement ring, and smokey makeup finish everything off — and most importantly of all, Stewart looks as happy and comfortable as a clam.

Though perhaps her proximity to Robert Pattinson had something to do with it.

I don’t like her heels… They’re too basic and too chunky. I would have preferred daintier strappy heels with this dress.
