PHOTOS: Kristen Stewart Gets A Makeover On The Cover Of W Magazine

You know that feeling you get when you look at a magazine cover and you know you’re supposed to know who the person on the cover is, but you just can’t tell because they don’t look like themselves? That’s the feeling we got last night when we saw Kristen Stewart on the September cover of W Magazine.

Stewart is a pretty lady — and we know that because we’ve seen her on the red carpet and in various high profile Hollywood films — and she obviously looks stunning on the cover. But it’s one thing to create a surprising new look that is perhaps at odds with an actress or a model’s traditional style, and a completely different thing to make them almost unrecognizable.

The difference between what Stewart looks like in W and what she looks like in real life are only more clearly underlined when Lynn Hirschberg, who interviewed the actress for the magazine, asks her about growing up as Twilight‘s Bella Swan. Stewart, now 21, has been playing the character since she was 17, and has had to get used to letting go of her image.

In film, I have chronicled every stage of my life since I was nine. And it’s more intense now, obviously, because I’m not in control of it anymore.

Still, we have to wonder if she ever gets used to having her face rearranged in high profile magazines (we’re looking at you, Vogue). Take a look a a few of the images below, and read the rest of Stewart’s interview here.

big improvement if you ask me.  that woman’s dumb face (and I mean her airheadedness is written all over her slack-jawed face).  i’d like to congratulate W for doing the impossible.

wow, b*tch much? She’s gorgeous naturally, but everyone looks better with some makeup. Now if she piled on makeup like Kim Kardashian every day no one would be making an issue out of it. I’ve seen her up close, at the Eclipse premiere in that fabulous Roland Mouret and kick-a*s makeup. She was flawless. Doubt much airbrushing needed. Much better than Vogue.

Looks like a cross between Kaya Scodelario and Lindsay Lohan.

She looks NOTHING like herself in the 2nd image. And in the last image she reminds me of Alicia Keys and Lindsay Lohan merged together. Gorgeous photos, but they do not compare at all to the real KSTEW. Yikes.

    suuuuuuuuuuch an improvement

Most of us, especially women of course, play around with our image as we grow up. As long as you hold on to your true self it’s just fun and no harm done.  A woman with good features and bone structure is like a canvas and the stylists and photographer can easily create a fantasy. (It IS pretty scary when they do it to a 12 year old though–like Brooke Shields in “Pretty Baby.”)

Don’t be so mean. Lets see your face and then talk
