Lady Gaga’s ‘Alejandro’ Video Looks Very Familiar…

A photo leaked today of Lady Gaga’s upcoming video for her latest single “Alejandro” — which, if you need a refresher, is the one that isn’t very good and reminds us of Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita.” Anyway! When we first reported that fashion photog extraordinaire Steven Klein would be shooting the vid, we joked that he might use the shoot as a chance to build on some of his previous work — we referenced “Clorox Blue” in particular, a raunch-tastic (and slightly disturbing) featurette which saw Amber Valetta as a couture-clad bathroom prostitute who has her way with two boy-toys du jour.

What we didn’t expect was for him to, well, literally do just that. From the leaked image, it looks like Klein forwent “Clorox Blue” for “Academy”, an editorial featuring model Lara Stone as a dictatorial and domineering instructor at a school for gorgeous boys.

Look familiar?

We’re curious to see if the entire video evokes “Academy” or if it will just be a small part of a larger (and hopefully more diverse) whole. What do you think?

So Steven Klein recycled some of his own work. Anyway I wasn’t too sure but after she admitted to being inspired by of Ace of Base I knew where she got it from. It sounds more like them than it does La Isla Bonita.
I’m excited to see this video, though. They’re never boring.

Yeah… no. Know what it reminds me of? “I Want To Break Free” – the scene where Freddie Mercury rolls over all those bodies? And I’m certain that’s deliberate, as it’s her.

Seriously, take a look at Queen’s original music video, and you will see the similarity.

I like it as an image of her, but we’ll see what unfolds. She’s taking a risk using a photographer – even a great one – as a video director. I’m glad she’s taking risks and is willing to live with the results. I hope she makes videoes of Dance in the Dark and So Happy I Could Die. Monster, Teeth and Boys, Boys, Boys may not have #1 hit potential, but could be fun as videos.

she sort of seems like she eats other people’s ideas for breakfast, then reconstructs them to make her own bangin madness..
