Terry Richardson Filmed Lady Gaga ‘Peeing In A Cup’ For New Book

Fashion photographer Terry Richardson has done a lot of gross things in his career — and we mean a lot of gross things — but we’ve never known him to take video of a woman urinating. Apparently, though, that was just part of the creative process for his new photo book about Lady Gaga.

The Mother Monster said in an interview that Richardson, who’s known well for his porny, overexposed aesthetic, filmed her doing something in a cup that most people prefer to do behind closed doors — and in a toilet. But that’s OK because he loves her fans as much as she does!

“My favorite thing, honestly, is that he loved the fans. He shot the fans the same way he shot me: with no pretense. No ‘Well, she’s put out records and they haven’t.’ None of that. The music was all of ours,” she said. “He would come backstage and he would say, ‘Oh my God, the fans!’ And I’d say, ‘I know what you just photographed.’ And he’d say, ‘Baby, wow!’ And then he’d film me, like, peeing in a cup and, like, ridiculous things.”

Emphasis ours. What other ridiculous things could Richardson have photographed Gaga doing? (Also, who still calls people “baby”?) Richardson was given unfettered access to Gaga’s life for ten months to create the book, so there must be some photos of her in the 350-page tome doing other similarly ridiculous things. Will we see photos of Gaga dressed as a normal person? Did she ever smoke pot in front of Richardson’s lens? Is she secretly an awesome pastry chef?

We won’t know until the book debuts this fall.
