WATCH: Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ Video Is Here!

It’s the song that sparked a thousand ‘Express Yourself’ comparisons and caused Elton John to declare it the “gayest song” he’s ever heard. But the one thing everyone’s really been waiting for is finally here: the official video for Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ is out and it’s insane. Also: strangely commercial.

It opens with a unicorn and then moves into what appears to be a send up of ’70s sci-fi movies (think Star Wars) meets an homage to Pink Floyd, with a heavy dose of creation mythology topped with some artistic renderings of mitosis, which then segues into Gaga dancing in a itty-bitty black bikini (which, no disrespect to her obviously banging bod, feels a little Britney-esque).

Also: Nicola Formichetti‘s new Mugler muse Zombie Boy makes a few extended cameos which, if we’re being honest, are probably the best parts of the whole video.

Finally: does the last close-up on Lady Gaga’s face feel like tribute to Madonna (gap-tooth and all) or are we just being sentimental?

    I think that a few people understood this video, Lady Gaga looks like she is a stranger in most part of her videos, but she give us a lot of messeges about about being human being, about our side ( of being a human being) that the society tries to cover it up. The part of our instinct that we try to hide since we were born, the part that make us a human being as like as our civilized side. Because to be a human being, what a few people nowadays, don’t look like making your own attitudes. In other words, being a human being is to keep us between our instincts and our civilized side, in a way that we can live in society. But this, the Psychologist explain and the experiences of being a human being too.
