Lady Gaga Fights Weight Critics With An Online Stripshow

In the wake of a weight gain controversy, most celebrities respond with either vitriol or a giant shrug heaved in the direction of the press. But of course, Lady Gaga isn’t most celebrities.

So after being plagued with catty remarks over her self-professed 25-pound weight gain this past week (ugh, people), Gaga has taken two courses of action:

1. Wear Comme des Garçons.

The pop star stepped out in Paris on Saturday in one of the fabulous oversized “flat” coats from Rei Kawakubo‘s Fall 2012 collection, which effectively turned her into a two dimensional form. And while she had plenty of collections to choose from — the lumps and bumps pieces come to mind — the blue and pink ensemble definitely sent a message you couldn’t ignore. Gaga also responded with a Twitter shoutout to her little monsters:

“And thank to my fans who love me no matter what, and know the meaning of real beauty&compassion. I really love you.”

2. Strip down to your skivvies online and start A Body Revolution.

This is the name of the egg-dwelling pop star’s latest program as part of her Born This Way Foundation, which she announced this morning on her own social media site Little Monsters. There isn’t much in the way of info yet, but it’s safe to say Gaga is going full throttle towards encouraging body acceptance in her fans. To kick off the venture, she’s posted a series of un-retouched, not-necessarily-flattering photos of herself posing in her underwear for the lens of (who else?) Terry Richardson.

Check out both below.

She looks damn good to me.

I am sure the people who have the audacity to comment on her 25 pound weight gain probably don’t have bodies that come even close to looking as good as hers. Look in the mirror before you open your mouth people.

seriously???? “not so flattering” are you kidding me? if anything she’s too skinny not too fat….get a grip people and know what’s healthy

Normally one would just sweep this under the carpet and let it all be, but this is Lady Gaga, the token celebrity who has chosen not only to let her music define her but also her physical image (and vice versa). For the longest time we’ve been watching the Queen of Pop deliver us nonchalance, kitsch, drama, hyperbole, drama, blood stains, role reversal and anything that she thinks that will shock us. Is it any surprise that this time she has legitimately shocked the media world not so much because of some costume she is wearing but what actually exists underneath the costume or to put it sweetly who really exists behind the veneer of antics and tricks and slabs of meat.

    “un-retouched, not-necessarily-flattering photos”
You think these pics are unflattering? You’re nuts! There are girls who would KILL to be this ‘overweight’

she;s not fat lol im like that and people tell me im not fat so either they are lying to me or we are really not fat.

Girl be looking fine. It is sickening that the media disproportionately affects how women view themselves compared to men. Be healthy – whatever that means, and in whatever shape that may be. For all else, fuck them.

  • Weight Gain

This may be the answer for all rumors but its not necessary .

These photos are not unflattering…She looks better here than she pretty much ever has in my opinion. The long brown hair flatters her, the less made up face is so much prettier, and her body looks toned and perfect. There is just too much to be said here…
