Lady Gaga Admits She Buys Fake Designer Bags And Jackets
We guess even Lady Gaga can’t resist the scintillating allure of a crappy designer knockoff. The singer admitted this week that although she loves fashion (and has more than enough money to pay for the real deal when she wants it), she’ll still throw down a few bucks for a good fake.

The Daily Mirror reports that Gaga was chatting with a group of American fans when she dispensed the following fashion advice: Don’t be afraid of thrift stores or of doing crazy things to make your look your own, and don’t drop your life savings on designer clothing when you can get stuff that looks like it for a fraction of the cost.
“In Tokyo, they have all these stores that have fake Chanel and Versace,” she said. “And I’m an Italian from New York, so I still buy it. This jacket is a fake.”

Ooh, Donatella is not gonna be happy about that — and neither is the rest of the industry. Doesn’t Gaga know that buying counterfeit stuff can land you in jail? Granted we think everyone should be able to wear cool things, but you can totally do that without using your money to fund far-flung drug operations and organized crime rings. And if anyone is aware of that, it’s Gaga.
