WATCH: Lady Gaga Arrived At The Grammys In An Egg
Lady Gaga arrived at tonight’s 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in an egg. Which makes sense, obviously, because it’s the fourth day of New York Fashion Week and only two days after Gaga’s newest (and quite possibly most anticipated) single, “Born This Way”, took the internet by storm. How else was she supposed to arrive? Armadillo heels are so last year.
According to Gaga’s stylist (and Mugler creative director) Nicola Formichetti‘s Twitter feed, the egg was designed by Hussein Chalayan. Gaga’s as of yet unrevealed ensemble was designed by House of Mugler. Formichetti also took over Gaga’s Twitter account to offer the following explanation for her in vitro arrival:
This is Nicola, Haus of Gaga: Gaga is in incubation. Tonight’s performance is in collaboration with Hussein Chalayan and House of Mugler. X
We’ve got photos and video of the arrival below. Besides an endless amount of bad “Born This Way” jokes, the only other tidbit we have to offer is that Anne Vyalitsyna (the model who appears to be in charge of Gaga’s egg) has the same strange bone protrusions as Gaga does in the album’s cover art. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest upon the egg’s arrival, Anne V said that Gaga was currently “incubating” and wouldn’t be born until her performance later tonight. Gaga did, however, offer the cameras a blurry wave.
