WATCH: Taiwan Dedicates An Entire Day To Lady Gaga

People were celebrating all around the world this past weekend. Canada Day, Fourth of July, Lady Gaga Day. That’s right- Taiwan was so excited for the singer’s tour of the island that they proclaimed July 3rd Lady Gaga Day, and they threw quite the celebration!

The pop star was feted in Taichung by government officials, local tribes and of course, her fans. A group of Taiwanese school children, perhaps the littlelest of the little monsters out there, performed a dance (accompanied by what sounded like chants of “Gaga! Gaga!”) for the star. The mayor of Taichung presented Gaga with a key to the city, along with a painting of her ‘Born This Way’ album cover.

Gaga attended the festivities sporting a surprisingly conservative pair of red pants with a matching red animal-print blazer. She donned the half black, half white hair she’s been wearing as of late.

Gaga, who was just named the Queen of Pop by Rolling Stone, yucked it up with fans after the award ceremony and expressed her gratitude for the gifts and celebration. “I will always remember this day,” she said.

She performed a free nine-song concert in the city, where there were reportedly 40,000 attendants, many of whom dressed up in Gaga-inspired garb. The day after, Lady Gaga was spotted exiting a yoga studio in a totally impractical jewel-encrusted lace body suit and sky-high platforms. She’ll continue her tour of Asia in Singapore today.
