Lady Gaga Gets A Tumblr, Steals Name From Fan

It seems like everyone’s going after Lady Gaga for stealing these days. First we learned she’d copped her name from a Babylonian slave owner, then we hear the mother monster may have embezzled money from her “We Pray For Japan” campaign and now web users everywhere are accusing Gaga of stealing her Tumblr name.

Gaga’s Tumblr, Amen Fashion — like her song — launched on Monday. But turns out one of her loyal fans had a like-named Tumblr but the mother monster wanted the name so her management company asked the fan via Tumblr’s Community Support to give it. The fan, in response, apparently switched his Tumblr name to Amen Fashion1, upon which the website contacted him demanding a more drastic change.

So while Gaga did steal the name, she almost had a right to — it was her song title, after all. And, at the very least, he now gets to go around saying Lady Gaga stole something from him, so there’s that.

As for the Tumblr itself, its pretty much what you’d expect from her, meaning it’s completely weird and unexpected. She’s updated it a few times since yesterday with kooky quotes and strange photos. Although the controversy seems unnecessary, we have a feeling Gaga doesn’t mind that much more attention. There’s no such thing as bad publicity, right?

I seriously hate bullshit. How many times do I have to disprove to the non-monsters that Lady Gaga has done no wrong. First off, she did NOT embezzle money. Secondly, she did not steal her name from a Babylonian slave owner. How is that even possible? IDIOTS. And thirdly, even if Lady Gaga wanted her name to be “amenfashion” on Tumblr, she wouldn’t have stolen it from anyone. Treat my response as fact. I don’t feel like going into detail… I’ve commented on practically 50 other websites that disclose this libel. I really, really, am getting frustrated with the amount of bullshit, and I don’t tolerate ANYONE slandering someone for philanthropic work. That is just crossing the line. She, along with anyone else, trying to “do good” for a charitable situation being wrongly accused of embezzlement? Pathetic.

Shut the fuck up. She did steal her name, moron obviously why would someone make that up? And it wasn’t cool what she did. She could’ve came up with a whole other name instead of taking it from someone who had it first. And where’s your proof she didn’t take the money from Japan? Exactly you have no proof. Charging Shipping and taxes for charity is fishy. Stop getting defensive over someone you don’t even know, she’s a stranger, moron.

I know this is off topic, but
I’m mad as hell and I’ve got something to say. Over the last day or so I’ve
read numerous articles about Lady Gaga being sued in federal court for skimming
funds from the pray for Japan bracelet she designed and sold to provided needed
assistance to those suffering from the disaster that hit that country.
Words/phrases like racketeering, fraud, theft and profiting from the misery of
others are being bandied about. I truly don’t know which is worse, the
irresponsible journalism from some of the media or the scum law firm that
brought this law suit for the publicity and I’m sure…. monetary gain.

    We’re talking about Gaga
here. Wasn’t she named the most charitable celebrity of 2010? Hasn’t she
repeatedly opened her personal checkbook to give to various charitable causes?
Hasn’t she freely given her of her very limited time and lent her name to
support numerous charity efforts? The answer is YES to all the above. Now we’re
being led to believe she personally skimmed-off funds meant for Japan to pocket
a few hundred thousand dollars? Well… that would be a lot of $$$ to me, but is
it really worth the damage to Ms. Germanotta’s brand to do this. Remember… she
reportedly earned 90 million last year. This young lady pockets a few hundred
thousand dollars (net) after each concert. When you consider it this way the
whole idea that she stole from the poor box is just plain silly.

    Let’s look at what a
representative from the law firm had to say.

    “While
we commend Lady Gaga for her philanthropic efforts, we want to ensure that
claims that ‘all proceeds will be donated to Japan’s earthquake’ are in fact
true,” said Alyson Oliver, an attorney for 1800LAWFIRM.

    “Our
intention via this lawsuit is to uncover any improprieties committed by Lady
Gaga and appropriate the full donations assumed to the victims in Japan.”

    Now… I’ve been around a few
years (60). I’ve got a couple of degrees on the wall that I guess attests to the
fact I know how to read. When you boil it down what this statement says to me
is they really don’t have anything solid. In short… they are using the federal courts
to go fishing. They really don’t know if any improprieties have occurred, but
on our behalf they are going to “ensure” that none have. How very nice of them.

    Here’s what’s really going
on. A cheesy law firm wants free publicity. So… they pick one of the biggest
celebrities on the planet and file a baseless lawsuit. In doing so, they get their
free publicity by smearing the hell out of the good name of someone who
repeatedly has tried to make the world a better place. This law suit will never
go to court. It was never intended for it to do so. The objective of the law
firm has already been met. What’s really sad is that 10 years from now nobody
will remember the law firm, but there will be some remembering Ms. Germanotta
as someone who stole from the needy.

    Loving/hating Gaga for her
fashion/politics/music is beside the point. What’s this law firm has done here
should be the real crime. AND… they will get away with it. In this matter I’m
back to back with Stefani Germanotta. I have both paws up and my claws are
    bared.

I’ve read over and over how
many followers Gaga has. Seems to me that if those followers started contacting
this law firms via their 800 number and website… well… I’m guessing it would
become hard for them to conduct business. I’m just sayin…..

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IPJSK2ITZBLFRN5MESRWQ3B6E4 hi

gaga doesn’t care about people accusing her of stealing
    1) amen fashion is a title of one of her songs – shes not stealing anything
    2) gaga tried to do a good thing by selling bracelets

cmon nothing is ever good enough even when she tries to do something good; when she tries to help people still bring her down and you know why she was named the most powerful celeb in the world – because her haters are just as dedicated to her as her fans
