Lara Stone Reveals She Was A Violent Drunk

We try and keep as up-to-date as is humanly possible about all the comings and goings of our favorite models –but sometimes even we like to re-read. Especially when it involves something particularly juicy like Danish stunner, Lara Stone’s recent revelation in Interview Magazine that she was a violent drunk. Miss that? You’re not alone.

In a q&a with Marc Jacobs, Stone opened up about her drinking habits, rehab, and why she doesn’t like working with female photographers.

It seems only a few months ago, Lara Stone had a penchant for mixing hard alcohol with violent confrontation and she says she would try to pick fights with just about anybody — doormen, bouncers, boyfriends etc. ”I used to love slapping people in the face when I was drunk,” Stone reveals. Thankfully no one ever punched her back — wouldn’t want to break that nose.

But more than just the occasional bouts of belligerence, Stone said she felt her drinking had started to spiral out of control.

“I always had to have some drinks with me in my bag. Just waking up shaking and then having Bloody Marys on your own, first thing in the morning – I started to feel really pathetic about it.”

Unable to cope, she packed it up and headed off to a South African rehab facility where she “cried a lot” and eventually got sober. And if her recent campaign coup is any indication, seems everything is back on track.

As for her experiences with female photogs, Stone says:

“Personally, I don’t like working with female photographers because they seem to never be able to make up their minds about what they want to do-with the exception of Inez because she always knows what she’s doing. But so many times it’s like, “Oh, let’s try this” and “Let’s try that” and “Let’s do this” and “Let’s do that.” It’s like, “For fuck’s sake, woman!”"

But on the flip side, Stone sites Carine Roitfeld as her personal style and fashion muse.

We’ve worked together a lot; she’s been a big supporter and helped me along with everything. Also, just the way she does her magazine-she’s not afraid to do things differently or scared to put certain things in her magazine, a bit of controversy. She’s a bit naughty. She likes sexy things.

We agree. And so does Marc.
