Lauren Bush’s Wedding Entertainment Includes 100 Tickets To The Rodeo
Lauren Bush‘s wedding to David Lauren won’t just be an expensive shindig. Word has it the families have invested so much in the wedding that these nuptials will be a sort of stimulus package for the town of Ridgeway, Colo.
Of course, Ralph Lauren‘s famous Double RL Ranch already serves as a boost to the local economy, but the wedding will leave a literally indelible mark on the area. The Durango Herald reports that local workers built a chapel and a baseball diamond specifically for the wedding over the last few months — and while it’s unlikely that anyone who’s not a Lauren (or a Bush … or a Bush-Lauren) will have access to them, their construction has put some money in local pockets.
Other than that, both families are being discreet about how much they’ve ponied up for Lauren and David’s special day, and some local vendors have even signed non-disclosure agreements that prevent them from talking to about it.
But not talking about cost doesn’t mean the vendors can’t talk about content. One flower shop owner in the area says she’s been filling the house with sunflowers — and then there’s the entertainment. We reported this week that there might be royalty and former heads of state at the wedding, but we didn’t know that they’d be taking in a rodeo while they were in Ridgeway.
[Ralph] Lauren bought 100 rodeo tickets at $8 each for his wedding guests to see the bucking broncos and steer scrambles on Labor Day. They will sit in the weather-beaten grandstand bleachers under a metal awning, Ouray Fairgrounds manager Susan Long said.
“We don’t have box seats, but we’ll hang a rope around their seats so they’re all together. Mr. Lauren hired vans to transport them from the ranch to the fairgrounds,” Long said. “He and his wife, Ricky, come to the rodeo every year.”
And while $800 doesn’t sound like a huge investment, imagine how many nachos all those people are going to buy.
