Lindsay Lohan Took A Break From Rehab To Shop At Forever 21

Lindsay Lohan‘s stint in rehab is apparently going remarkably well, because she’s allowed to leave the Betty Ford Center in Los Angeles to go shopping and get coffee on a regular basis.

Radar Online reports that the troubled starlet has been seen at a Forever 21 twice in the past two weeks with an unidentified female friend. Store manager Tiffany Bennett told the site that when Lohan is done shopping, she’ll often pop into the Starbucks next door, where locals see her “all the time.”

Lindsay purchased $200 worth of loungewear on her latest shopping spree, including “a leopard sweater, a lot of pajama bottoms, and a ton of socks,” Bennett said.

Intrepid tweeter @emmamarquez spotted Lohan at the store and took the picture of her at your left. We wondered how being photographed by cell phone paparazzi and mingling with people who don’t understand the magnitude of Lohan’s problems might help her to take control of those problems, but it turns out that Lohan’s outings are almost completely innocent. Bennett says the treatment looks like it’s working, and that Lohan mostly kept to herself while she was shopping.

“We were surprised that Lindsay was so low key,” Bennett said. “The only thing she asked us to do was to hold some of the items at the front until she was finished picking things out.”

Still, it’s a little weird that Lindsay gets to rejoin the world when she hasn’t fully proved her commitment to sobriety. She’s sentenced to stay at the Betty Ford Center until January 3, so we’ll see next year if leaving treatment to go shopping has helped her kick the destructive habits she used to have.

Didn’t she say that going into rehab would be an economic hardship? How does shopping help her financial situation even if it is at Forever 21.

Rooting for her to get better!
