Lindsay Lohan Could Get 3 Years On Necklace Theft Charges

Who knew one person could get into much trouble? Embattled shoe designer (also: actress!) Lindsay Lohan faces grand theft and second degree commercial burglary charges after a shop owner alleged she took a $2,500 necklace from a store in Venice Beach. Let us remind you, the girl just got out of drug rehab a few months ago, and her 2010 calendar was packed with more dates in court than there are in date nut bread.

But on top of the charge (and on top of all of her other legal woes), Lohan could face up to three years in prison if she’s convicted of theft. It’s expected that she’ll be arraigned at the Airport Courthouse of Los Angeles County’s Superior Court Wednesday at 1:30. If she’s convicted, she could spend up to three years locked up — and she wouldn’t be going to a county jail like she did after her DUI convictions. She’d be going to a state prison.

The shop owner in this suit alleged that Lohan stole a “one-of-a-kind” gold necklace with semiprecious stones from their store on Jan. 22. Police started investigating the matter a few days later. When the LAPD filed a search warrant for Lohan’s home, someone, we’re guessing a stylist, took the necklace to the police.

Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley plans to fight back and says Lohan didn’t steal the necklace. We’ll wait to see her prove that beyond a reasonable doubt.

Lohan was recently discharged from the Betty Ford Rehabilitation Clinic, where she was sent after being charged with driving under the influence. It was her fifth stint in rehab. Her last visit to jail was her third stay behind bars in connection with her DUI.

She’s one bad news girl. Perhaps, rather than jail or rehab, someone should Just.Say.No. to this spoiled brat.

I feel sorry for her….she needs some relatives to take care of her ( the healthy ones).
